The weather is turning chilly, the kitchens are smelling of cinnamon and gingerbread...it's holiday time at Starry Nights Catering & Events!

Starry Nights' Holiday 2006 Open House is coming up!

If you've never been to Starry Nights, or want to sample some of Chef Matt's legendary food...or just want to stop by to say hello, now is your chance! Starry Nights Catering & Events is having our 2006 Holiday Open House on Thursday, November 9th from 2pm to 8pm.

We'd love to host your office holiday party, or your big annual family gathering...but our calendar is filling up very quickly, and we'd hate to miss your big party! So please join us for our Open House. One lucky client will be going home with a Starry Nights Holiday Cookie Box…it could be you! Click here to RSVP.

Speaking of holiday parties...have you seen Chef Matt's Holiday 2006 menus?

Whether you want a wintry appetizer buffet, or a traditional spread of prime rib au jus with garlic mashed potatoes, Starry Nights has a delicious holiday menu just for your event!

And a tradition at Starry Nights is back for the holidays...the famous Holiday Cookie Box!

Each box contains 4 chocolate chip cookies, 4 snickerdoodles, 2 gingerbread men, cranberry-nut dessert bread, candy canes, and new for this year….Starry Nights' own handmade Belgian chocolates (and you thought the cookies were good!). Each box is lovingly handmade in our kitchens, and sells for $30.00 plus tax. We highly recommend a box of Chef Matt's tasty treats for hostess gifts, Secret Santa presents, employee recognition awards, and for anyone who is on Santa's "Good" list this year! Click here to order online. You can pick your box up at Starry Nights in Kirkland, or have it delivered for a small fee.

Our Fall 2006 Cooking Classes with Cascadia Community College were a smashing success!

For six consecutive Tuesday evenings this fall, twelve would-be gourmet travelers gathered at Starry Nights for our "Dining and Dancing Around the World" series. Our students ate wienerschnitzel and danced the Viennese Waltz; ate paella and danced the Spanish Bolero; dined on strip steaks and learned the Argentinean Tango. According to one of our students, "You put together a top rate program...(that was) so much fun...we truly looked forward to coming every week!"

Pastry Chef Dan taught our one-day "Cake Decorating Like a Professional" class- it was so popular that we added another class, which promptly filled up!

We are taking a break from teaching for the winter quarter, but be sure to check back on our website for our Spring 2007 class offerings, which will certainly include more Cake Decorating!

New Faces in the Kitchen!

Starry Nights would like to formally introduce our very first employee, Nadia Zane! She was hired in September as the Starry Nights Sous Chef, and has been an outstanding addition to Starry Nights. Nadia comes to us from the very same cooking apprenticeship program that produced Chef Matt!

Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations TV episode update!

Back in June, The Travel Channel's "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" filmed Chef Matt for an episode about Pacific Northwest food. We have spoken with Anthony Bourdain's staff, and his new season will begin in January 2007. So be looking for the announcement of a Starry Nights "No Reservations" Viewing Party early next year!

Chef Matt Goes Back to Cooking School (well, sort of)

In February, Chef Matt and Denise will be heading to Malaysia and Singapore, also known as "The Food Court of the World." Matt will attend a cooking class in Singapore to learn the secrets of Malay cuisine from the locals themselves.

.....And last, but not least, here is our holiday gift to you...
