Summertime means cakes!

It's summertime at Starry Nights! That means weddings and company picnics galore. We are almost fully booked for the season, so if you are just now thinking of summer catering, please contact us as soon as possible- we'd hate to miss out on your celebration!

Speaking of celebrating, Starry Nights Catering & Events celebrated one complete, and successful, year in business in April, with a Client Appreciation Dinner on May 2nd. All of our past year's clients, students, and renters were invited for dinner and cake on us. It's been an incredible year, and we couldn't have done it without all of you.

If there's one question we get asked more than any other, it's

"When are you having cake decorating classes?"

Well, we have an answer!

This summer we are offering a 3-part course on Cake Decorating. You can take the entire course, or just one or two of the classes. Space is limited to just 10 students, so please call or register online us to make reservations as soon as possible. (who knows, if we get the same huge response as last time, we might schedule a second set of classes...)

Cake decorating classes

Basic Cake Decorating
Tuesday July 10th, 6-9pm
$55/pp
Learn basic techniques including slicing layers, masking, and basic piping techniques.

Decorating With Fondant
Tuesday July 17th, 6-9pm
$70/pp (tuition includes a styrofoam dummy and a ball tool)
Learn how to work with fondant, including rolling, coloring, and draping cakes. We will also cover advanced piping techniques.

Decorating With Gumpaste
Tuesday July 24th, 6-9pm
$70/pp (tuition includes a styrofoam dummy and a leaf cutter or two)
Learn how to make flowers and other advanced cake decorations with gumpaste, including painting techniques and other detail work.

...or, purchase the entire Cake Decorating series for $180.00. That's a savings of $15.00 over the individual class price. Sweet!

But maybe you just like EATING cakes. Just in time for your 4th of July picnic, Chef Matt is making his famous Red White & Blue Cake! ...And if any of you missed Chef Matt's 15 minutes of fame (OK, more like 3 minutes) on The Travel Channel's "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" back in January, be sure to tune in Monday July 2nd at 8:00pm or 11:00pm when it is scheduled to be rebroadcast on The Travel Channel.
