Kirkland Chef Cooks For "Kitchen Confidential" and Food Network's Anthony Bourdain

May 2006

Kirkland, Wash- Matt Jones, Executive Chef of Starry Nights Catering & Events, will be turning the tables on Anthony Bourdain, the famous New York City chef and TV personality. Jones will be the sous chef cooking for Chef Bourdain on June 7th, at Seattle's exclusive members-only restaurant Gypsy.

Bourdain, best known for penning the industry tell-all "Kitchen Confidential," and the TV programs "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel, and "Cook's Tour" on the Food Network, will be Gypsy's special guest. "Usually chefs want to cook at Gypsy," said Jones. "This is the first time a celebrity chef wants to be a diner. Cooking for Anthony Bourdain will be an exciting challenge- you always want to impress another chef, especially a famous one."

Gypsy, named one of Seattle's best restaurants by Seattle Weekly, is an underground members-only dining experience, reserved for "foodies." Membership is by referral only, and regional guest chefs get a rare chance to cook a multi-course meal of their design for local gourmets. Past guest chefs have included Greg Atkinson, formerly of Canlis, Tom Black, formerly of Barking Frog and now at Seattle Yacht Club, and Danielle Custer of Cafe Bon Appetit at the Seattle Art Museum. Anthony Bourdain represents the first nationally recognized celebrity chef to dine at Gypsy.

Starry Nights is located at 11200 Kirkland Way #220, Kirkland, WA 98033.
