Booked

Seattle Times: January 24 2008

By Sherry Grindeland

Matt and Denise Jones, of Bellevue, thought their 15 minutes of fame had passed. Not so.

Matt made the book.

The couple own Starry Nights Catering & Events in Kirkland where Matt reigns in the kitchen. When Anthony Bourdain visited Seattle for his "No Reservations" show on the Travel Channel, Matt was one of the selected chefs who cooked for the noted chef, author and television personality.

Bourdain's latest book includes a picture of Matt working on that dinner. Matt's on the last page of "No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach."

Folks who want to taste Matt's work can meet him when he's the guest chef next Thursday at Seattle's FareStart.

Denise Jones couldn't be prouder. FareStart, which trains homeless people for the restaurant business, usually invites restaurant chefs, not catering stars, to host the Guest Chef nights.
